When Qubic Tax approached us wanting to commission two installations on the theme of 'Tax' we looked around and scratched our heads. This was a challenge. We wanted to make the work both exciting and relevant whilst having a bit of fun with the subject. The result is two very different pieces which visually complement each other. The lego piece represents the fact that everybody pays Tax (well, nearly everyone) no matter what job you do. This is playfully illustrated by the incredible detail on the lego people, each representing a different vocation. The neon is a comment on the fact that no one has the best perception of tax. In fact the word is usually preceded by some sort of profanity. A point we have highlighted by what looks like a swear word on the wall, however look again and you'll see what it actually spells...
